Rail

From landslips and derailments to scheduled maintenance and repairs, TPA portable roadways have the equipment, the people and the know-how to keep you on track.

We understand that in the rail sector, railway downtime can be extremely costly and disruptive, and minimising line closures is imperative. Our portable roadways enable safe pedestrian and vehicular access to within feet of a fully operational railway line, which means you can get on with the job in hand, and so can the trains!

TPA's rail sector department is led by a dedicated Rail Manager with over 27 years experience, who is able to provide expert advice and guidance based on a wealth of first-hand experience and problem solving.

From your initial call, our Field Engineers can be on site in under 3 hours to conduct a full site survey. From the results of the survey, our engineers will recommend the most effective and efficient solution, complete with a full project risk assessment and method statement. Where required, the installation can be project managed by one of our experienced rail experts.

Rail Sector - your key drivers include:

  • A potentially cost-effective alternative to traditional gravel access.
  • Rapid installation minimises downtime and speed restrictions.
  • Reduce risk of slips and falls with high traction welfare compounds and car park bases.
  • Improved access for larger vehicle transit equipment and machinery to and from site, thus reducing fuel costs and carbon footprint.
  • Rapid recovery on project completion, with no costly reinstatement work.

TPA Rail projects include:

  • Bank stabilisation - enabling access for piling work or gabion basket installation.
  • Access to remote areas for 30 tonne lorries - for temporary site installation, such as welfare facilities and 360 degree excavator dumpers.
  • Structural work - bridge renewals and refurbishments, and access for heavy cranes (up to 1000 tonnes) to remote locations.
  • Viaduct refurbishment - grouting, re-waterproofing. Access to remote locations for telescopic boom equipment, concrete pumps and welfare facilities.

Why customers trust TPA:

  • Cost-effective solution - compared to traditional gravel access.
