Wheels of Progress at TPA

TPA, Europe’s largest temporary roadway supplier, has announced a significant investment in its installation fleet. An order for fifteen new vehicles was placed prior to Christmas and the first eight are now ready for action.

The bespoke vehicles, based on the new MAN TGS 18.4 4.2 BL drawbar chassis, will enable TPA to install and recover its growing product range, including the new high density plastic pitch cover, more effectively. The vehicles come with state of the art cranes from Atlas which have proven reliability and provide an increase in lifting capacity, reach and manoeuvrability. Furthermore, TPA has chosen the 10.5 litre, 400bhp engines that provide improved fuel efficiency meaning they are more environmentally friendly, which is good news for everyone!

Ready to roll, the first of our fleet have arrived.

TPA Managing Director, David Williams commented; “Since arriving at TPA in 2008, customer service has been my primary focus and, with the current management team, we have seen year on year enhancements in this area. Customer feedback has been highly complementary and points us in the right direction. By utilising the financial stability of our parent company, Vp plc, we are able to invest for the future by acquiring a large number of cleaner, more efficient installation vehicles that meet the customers’ ongoing needs.”

Divisional Director, Steve Humberstone added; “Our vehicle fleet enhancement doesn’t stop there. We are also eagerly awaiting new VW Transporter vans for our operational supervisors. This vehicle type has proven its versatility and reliability and will allow our highly skilled team to oversee complex installations in the varied sectors in which we operate.” He went on; “The choice of all our vehicles and cranes has been influenced by the tightening constraints including Health and Safety experienced in Transmission, Modular Buildings and Crane hire. These new wagons and vans will help to keep TPA ahead of some other operators who have ageing, second-hand fleets.”

The new fleet will be visible at many major events this year including Wimbledon, the Open golf and Leeds and Reading festivals. They will also be key in installing some of the stadia concerts that TPA will supply with its new plastic turf protection system.

With this large investment in vehicles, pitch cover and other new products, TPA is rewarding those customers who are ‘True to Blue’.
