The While old-established machinery shows such as Smithfield and the Royal have gone to the wall, and county shows have struggled to attract equipment exhibitors, the LAMMA Show just keeps on growing.
It started in a small way more than 30 years ago with 50 exhibitors and 2,500 visitors in a hall on the Lincolnshire Showground.
TPA has been providing their market leading aluminium and plastic track ways to the show for several years now and 2012 is no exception. This year’s install has benefited from 6,750 square metres of terratrak plus which is providing a strong and durable road and walkway within an expansive marquee area.
Stand numbers have risen steadily over the years since then to reach 500 in 2008 to 520 in 2009, 550 in 2010 and a big jump to 650 at this year's show. Visitor numbers have risen steadily, too, with between 38,000 and 40,000 people attending last year.
As the show expands, it is pulling in more foreign machinery makers, too, not to mention companies making and selling parts and components, renewable energy equipment, recycling kit and even equipment for farmers looking to diversify.
There's also a good range of livestock equipment makers at LAMMA, a logical move given the split of show visitors now stands at 60% arable and 40% livestock.
How much bigger can LAMMA get? It's hard to predict, but space is inevitably an issue. In fact, show organiser Cliff Preston points out that the available space is pretty much all taken and that drastic rearrangement would be needed to accommodate a further big increase in exhibitor numbers, however it lightens the load to know that TPA is firmly on hand to provide all portable access products and services to this growing show and we firmly pledge our continued support.
