Further Achievement for TPA

The accreditation has been specifically designed for the events industry with a purpose of helping it to operate in a more sustainable manner. Anyone involved in organising or managing events needs to understand the impact climate change will have on the industry and the standard requires organisations to identify and understand the effects their activities have on the environment; and put into place measures to minimise the negative effects.

BS8901 shares many management principles with other accreditations such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management).

The BS 8901 standard has been specifically developed for the event industry and by listening and working with our customers, together we have the opportunity to address the sustainability issues facing us all today.”

TPA’s Tom Henderson was responsible for co-ordinating the company’s accreditation audit; “It was important for us to be able to demonstrate to our customers that we are committed to environmental standards and to this end, achieve this accolade specific to one of the main industries we supply. Everyone involved worked extremely hard to pull all the information together and this has been rewarded with the standard accreditation.” He went on to add;”if you are responsible for staging an event, you should ensure your roadway supplier has this accreditation so you can rest assured knowing that any effect on the environment is being minimised at source – not all suppliers are alike!”.
