Cheltenham Gets a Firm Foundation
TPA Portable Roadways has been delighted to once again assist the Cheltenham Festival in this its Centenary year.
TPA has supplied Cheltenham for the past seven years with its aluminium panels and this year with some plastic product for the jewel in the crown of the National Hunt season; which sees over 220,000 spectators descend into the beautiful Cotswold countryside. Since 1911 when the National Hunt Committee agreed to allow Cheltenham to host the National Hunt meeting annually rather than let it continue on its annual tour, the best horses, trainers and jockeys have been the hallmark of the March meeting.

For this anniversary year, TPA supplied 60 brand new aluminium panels to provide a base for the BBC’s outdoor broadcast units as well as the giant mobile Guinness bar. TPA’s new range of plastic Terraflor panels also ensured that bar staff could gain easy access to the Best Mate enclosure.
TPA’s Steve Hancock commented; “This is the second year I’ve acted as supervisor on this job and apart from popping down a couple of times a day during the build-up, Tim Partridge has been happy to leave it to us as he knows we understand the job and simply get on with it.”
Tim Partridge, Cheltenham’s Buildings Manager added; “We’ve used and trusted TPA’s services for the last seven years at the festival and they’ve never let us down; providing us with an excellent all round service and products that meet our requirements.”
